Hollow Water First Nation (and Manigotagan)

We had an amazing time in Hollow Water First Nation (and Manigotagan) on Mother’s Day vaccinating and deworming local dogs with Dr Samyra Stuart-Altman from Central Veterinary Services and two amazing volunteers, as well as making amazing multicultural friendships along the way!! This First Nation community has proved to us once again that SO many dogs are in need of medical care, but most importantly-they have amazing owners attached to them, who just need a bit of help!!!! For $25, each dog received a wellness checkup, parvo/distemper and rabies vaccine, deworming, nail trim and tick treatment!

We pulled tones of ticks of the dogs and ourselves (some hiding in places we dare not talk about) but all in all, we had an amazing day! The weather was perfect, the people were so friendly and we rescued 4 dogs!!! This community has shown great interest in a full spay/neuter clinic in the near future and we really look forward to making that happen!!! One day at a time, one connection at a time…we will conquer this!

If you would like to help us fundraise for one of our upcoming clinics, please let us know! We are a small group but always looking to expand!! #SADN#saveadog #manitoba #welovedogs #vaccinating#deworming #buildingfriendships #rabiesvaccine
